Weather · September
Frigiliana weather in September.
Our favourite month for a week here. Sea at its warmest, evenings cooling, prices dropping.
What September feels like in Frigiliana
September is the quietest of the warm months and arguably the best week of the year to be in Frigiliana. Days are a comfortable 27–29°C, evenings cool nicely, the sea hits its warmest (around 23°C — still 22°C at month-end), and the festival crowds have left. Accommodation drops in price from mid-month. Walking conditions return; the Sierra Almijara stops feeling oven-like by the second week. Occasional thunderstorms after a long dry summer, but most days are perfect.
What's on in September
September is a quieter month in Frigiliana's events calendar — a good time for slow village days, walks in the Sierra Almijara, and visits to the coast without the crowds. The full year is on our events page.

Frigiliana vs Nerja in September
Frigiliana sits at 300m elevation, six kilometres inland and uphill from Nerja. That elevation difference makes the village consistently 1–2°C cooler than the Nerja coast — most noticeably in summer afternoons and evenings. In September, expect Nerja to be one or two degrees warmer on the warmest part of the day, with the gap narrowing in the cooler months. Sea temperatures (around 23°C) are the same whether you swim from Burriana or from one of the secluded coves at Maro.
