Who we are

Frigiliana Guide is an independent local guide to the village of Frigiliana in Andalusia, Spain. When we say “we”, “us”, or “our” on this page, we mean the team behind Frigiliana Guide.

If you have any questions about how we handle your data, reach us at hello@frigilianaguide.com.

What data we collect

We only collect information that you give us directly or that is generated automatically when you visit our website.

DataHow we get itWhy
Name & emailContact form / direct emailTo respond to your enquiry
Message contentContact form / direct emailTo understand what you’re asking about
Browsing dataCloudflare Web AnalyticsTo understand which pages people read — cookieless, no individual profile (see below)

We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, political opinions, religion, etc.) and we do not buy data from third parties.

Legal basis for processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on the following bases:

Legitimate interest — when you email us or submit a contact form, you’re asking us to get in touch. Processing your data to respond is a legitimate business interest. The same basis covers our use of Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify individuals.

Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to run this website. Each one only receives the minimum data needed to do its job.

ServicePurposeData shared
Cloudflare PagesWebsite hosting and deliveryStandard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsAnonymous, cookieless website statisticsPage viewed, country/city inferred from IP (IP itself not stored), device type, referrer. No cookies. No individual profile.
BrevoDelivers contact form submissions to our emailName, email, message
Cloudflare TurnstileBot protection on the contact formA short-lived challenge token. No tracking cookies.
Microsoft ClarityTemporary usability study — anonymised heatmaps and session replays showing how visitors move around the site, so we can improve itClicks, scrolls and mouse movement, page viewed, device type. Typed text is masked. Data is processed by Microsoft (see their privacy statement).

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or third-party advertising trackers. The Microsoft Clarity usability study is time-limited — we run it while improving the site, then switch it off.

How long we keep your data

Email correspondence is kept for as long as we need it to respond to your enquiry. If the conversation goes cold, we delete your data within 12 months of our last contact.

Cloudflare Web Analytics aggregated stats are kept by Cloudflare for 6 months; no individual record is stored.

While the Microsoft Clarity usability study runs, Microsoft keeps session replays for up to 30 days and aggregated heatmap data for up to 13 months.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your data — ask us what we hold about you. Correct it — if anything is wrong, let us know. Delete it — ask us to erase your data and we will, unless we have a legal reason to keep it. Object to processing — you can ask us to stop using your data. Data portability — request a copy of your data in a standard format.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@frigilianaguide.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Our always-on analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless by design — it identifies visitors only at the moment of the page load using a privacy-preserving fingerprint, and never sets or reads a cookie. We set no advertising cookies at all.

While the temporary Microsoft Clarity usability study runs, Clarity sets two first-party cookies (_clck and _clsk) so it can group the clicks and scrolls of one visit into a single anonymised replay. They disappear when the study ends.

If you would prefer not to be counted at all, any standard ad-blocker (uBlock Origin, AdGuard) blocks both static.cloudflareinsights.com and clarity.ms by default. We will not detect or work around the block.

Children

Our content is aimed at adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us and we’ll delete it immediately.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with Spain’s data protection authority:

Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD)

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent version. We won’t make significant changes without making it clear on the website.
